In the mid 19th century,systematic biologists realized that observable similarities and differences among a group of related species could be the basis for hypotheses about the evolutionary relationships among the species and their ancestors.Such hypotheses Can be expressed as characters.A character is comprised of two or more character states of species considered to be similar with respect to a basis for comparison.The states of a character may also be arranged into a character state tree to hypothesize speciation events associated with changes from one character state to another.In the mid 20th century.some systematists realized that sometimes paxrs of characters(or character state trees)could be incompatible as hypotheses,i.e.,they could not both be true.Through the 1950s,'60s and'70s,tests for,and ways to resolve,incompatibilities were used to estimate an ancestor relation based on mutually compatible characters.An estimate was often shown as a diagram connecting ancestors to their immediate descendants(not quite correctly)called a phylogenetic tree.More recently,other applications of compatibility concepts have been developed,including:identify characters that appear to be random in the context of their data set;combine estimates of ancestor relations for subsets of taxa in a larger collection into a single estimate(a so-called supertree)for the whole collection;and interpret geographic patterns in an evolutionary context.  相似文献

在青藏高原和四川盆地过渡带,分别于618m和1800m两个海拔高度上研究匍匐茎克隆植物过路黄(Lysimachia christinae)在资源交互斑块性生境中的克隆内资源共享及其对生长的影响.结果显示, 在海拔1800m处,与资源的空间同质性处理(Ⅰ) 和(Ⅱ)相比, 资源的空间异质性处理(Ⅲ)和(Ⅳ)下过路黄整个克隆片段的生物量和分株数均获得显著增加;在海拔618m处,与资源的空间同质性处理(Ⅰ) 和(Ⅱ)相比,资源的空间异质性处理(Ⅲ)和(Ⅳ)下过路黄整个克隆片段生物量显著增加.在海拔618m和1800m处,生长在低光高养条件下的远端分株, 若与高光低养的近端分株相连, 相比连接到低光高养的近端分株, 它们分配更多的生物量到地下部分;在海拔1800m处,生长在高光低养条件下的远端分株, 若与低光高养的近端分株相连, 相比连接到高光低养的近端分株, 它们分配更多的生物量到地上部分.在海拔618m和1800m处,生长在高光低养条件下的近端分株, 若与低光高养的远端分株相连, 相比连接到高光低养的远端分株, 它们分配更多的生物量到地上部分.处于资源交互斑块性生境中的过路黄发生了克隆内分工,依靠相连分株间的功能分化, 克隆植物能有效的利用异质性分布的资源, 缓解资源交互斑块性分布对克隆植物生长的不利影响.通过间隔子(匍匐茎或根状茎),相连分株间能够相互传递和共享由不同分株获得的资源,这种资源共享能够提高克隆植物在异质性生境中的存活与生长.同时,方差分析显示环境异质性和海拔的交互作用显著影响克隆片段的生物量和分株数.相比于海拔618m,在海拔1800m处克隆内资源共享对克隆植物生长表现的影响更大.  相似文献

Elucidation of maternal-fetal tolerance mechanisms clarifies the role of regulatory T cells (Treg) in transplant tolerance. This study aim to investigate the effect of pregnancy on paternal skin allograft survival. Flow cytometry techniques, mixed lymphocytes reaction (MLR), PCR, real-time PCR and skin transplantation were key methods. Treg increased significantly from 4.2% before pregnancy to peak at 6.8% day 8 after pregnancy. Both heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1) and indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase (IDO) mRNA express high in placenta while low in spleen (P<0.05). Although Treg increased during pregnancy, and splenocytes from the pregnant mice showed lower MLR response toward the paternal stimulator, single time pregnancy showed no significant protective effect on paternal skin allograft survival in the tested condition.  相似文献

We conducted a transplant experiment between two streams in NW Portugal impacted by agricultural runoff, mainly differing in phosphate concentration, to determine whether fungi on decomposing leaves would adapt to the new environment or would be replaced by fungi of the recipient stream. The most nutrient enriched stream had lower fungal diversity but faster leaf decomposition. Leaf transplantation did not alter fungal activity or species dominance. Multidimensional scaling ordination of fungal communities, from DNA fingerprint or conidial production, revealed that transplanted communities resembled more those of the original stream than the recipient stream. Results suggest that early fungal colonizers will determine the development and activity of fungal communities on decomposing leaves in streams impacted by agricultural practices. Selection for local adaptation results in genetic differentiation in ecologically important traits. In a perennial, outcrossing model plant Arabidopsis lyrata, several differentiated phenotypic traits contribute to local adaptation, as demonstrated by fitness advantage of the local population at each site in reciprocal transplant experiments. Here we compared fitness components, hierarchical total fitness and differentiation in putatively ecologically important traits of plants from two diverged parental populations from different continents in the native climate conditions of the populations in Norway and in North Carolina (NC, U.S.A.). Survival and number of fruits per inflorescence indicated local advantage at both sites and aster life‐history models provided additional evidence for local adaptation also at the level of hierarchical total fitness. Populations were also differentiated in flowering start date and floral display. We also included reciprocal experimental F1 and F2 hybrids to examine the genetic basis of adaptation. Surprisingly, the F2 hybrids showed heterosis at the study site in Norway, likely because of a combination of beneficial dominance effects from different traits. At the NC site, hybrid fitness was mostly intermediate relative to the parental populations. Local cytoplasmic origin was associated with higher fitness, indicating that cytoplasmic genomes also may contribute to the evolution of local adaptation.  相似文献

In this article, we develop a quantitative comparison method for two arbitrary protein structures. This method uses a root‐mean‐square deviation characterization and employs a series expansion of the protein's shape function in terms of the Wigner‐D functions to define a new criterion, which is called a “similarity value.” We further demonstrate that the expansion coefficients for the shape function obtained with the help of the Wigner‐D functions correspond to structure factors. Our method addresses the common problem of comparing two proteins with different numbers of atoms. We illustrate it with a worked example. 对怀山药(Dioscorea opposita)零余子愈伤组织的诱导、分化、再生苗的生根和移栽进行了研究。结果表明:⑴在不同激素组合的培养基上怀山药零余子均能产生愈作组织,而且具有一次成苗的能力。BA2mg/L+NAA2mg/L的培养基对诱导愈伤组织最有利,其出愈率达100%;⑵在愈伤组织的分化中,BA1mg/L+NAA1mg/L的激素组合是最佳的,其分化率为63.6%,且多形成丛生芽;⑶再生植株  相似文献

Photoautotrophic shoot and root development for triploid melon   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
The aim of this investigation was to establish environmental factors which promote growth and photosynthesis of melon (Cucumis melo L.) shoot buds, in vitro, and determine if photoautotrophic shoots had superior root forming ability in photoautotrophic environments. Buds from the triploid melon clone ‘(L-14×B)×L-14’ were observed for 21 days after transfer from a multiplication MS medium with 3% sucrose and 10 μM benzyladenine (BA) to a shoot development medium with 1 μM BA at three levels of sucrose in the medium (0, 1 and 3%), and light (50, 100 and 150 PPF) and CO2 (500, 1000 and 1500 ppm) in the culture chamber. More shoot buds were observed with 3% sucrose in the medium. Increased light and CO2 had a positive interaction with shoot proliferation. Fresh and dry weights were greatest at 3% sucrose, 150 PPF light and 1500 ppm CO2. Shoot buds grew more slowly in sugar-free medium, but fresh and dry weight still doubled over 21 days of culture. Net photosynthetic rates (NPR) of buds were negative after four days in treatment conditions, but became positive after transfer to fresh, sugar-free medium. Two triploid genotypes of melon were (1) grown in vitro with sugar (photomixotrophic) and without sugar (photoautotrophic), (2) rooted in sugar-free media, both in a laboratory controlled environment chamber (in vitro) and a greenhouse acclimatization unit (ex vitro), and (3) compared for subsequent nursery growth in the greenhouse unit. The genotype ‘(L-14×B)×L-14’ produced more shoots than ‘(L-14×B)×Mainstream’ in both photomixotrophic or photoautotrophic conditions. ‘(L-14×B)×L-14’ rooted as well from either photoautotrophic and photomixotrophic shoots but ‘(L-14×B)×Mainstream’ rooted less frequently from photoautotrophic shoots. Seventy-six percent of the shoots in the laboratory controlled environment chamber were able to root photoautotrophically, whereas 47% of the shoots in the greenhouse acclimatization unit were rooted. Between 77% and 88% of plantlets from all treatment combinations survived transfer to the nursery. After growth in the nursery, the sizes of plants (fresh weight, dry weight, leaf area) were the same for either genotype, from either photoautotrophic or photomixotrophic shoots. Nursery plants that had been rooted in the laboratory controlled environment chamber were larger than those rooted in the acclimatization greenhouse chamber.
